Defects and Recalls

Safety defects found in vehicles by manufacturers or the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) should result in a timely recall of the defective vehicle or parts so that unnecessary harm does not come to consumers. Unfortunately, many defects go un-recalled, and lives are needlessly lost and injuries caused because defective vehicles remain on the road.

If you are interested in learning more about the safety of your vehicle click here to view a database of NHTSA's recalls, defect investigations, and consumer complaints (and click here for hints on searching these databases).  Or, click here to see a list of NHTSA's press releases about past recalls.

Recent recalls

The following is a collection of news pieces covering automotive recalls. It is not all inclusive, but it is an asset to those who are curious if their vehicle has a defect. If you wish to see archived notices, simply click here.  This is a link to our Digg page housing all of this information.

For more information you can check NHTSA's web page devoted to recalls.  This includes tires and child seats.
